Worry has upside aspects.[1] When I worry about something, I'm going to start to prepare coping with it. Actually, I couldn't often start coping early. Thesedays I learned that it's good to start coping early. Especially when worry signals me that I need to start coping, it's good to kick off quickly.
Some research[2] show that when we are faced with adversity how we can cope with it. For example, we can reframe the bad situation to consider new paths or think that period as an opportunity to learn something. With these strategies, we can make our own meaning that allows us to overcome bad situation.
Another important coping strategy is mindfulness meditation. Many situations that we are worried seem like a fog. I mean there are no traffic sign that guide us. We can be faced with uncertainty. In that situation, anxiety and worry are likely to heighten. Mindfulness can allivate both of them and give us locus of control. It helps our better decision.[3]
There may be some other useful strategies to cope with uncertainty and we can use them when worry signals us to cope.
