I draw a mindmap that represents my effort last four years. I talk about this mindmap that includes my English learning journey.
First of all, I want to talk about why I started to learning English.
In 2018 August, I found a book that easy book, maybe it’s Oxford bookworm stage one. It’s really short and easy to read so I finish it during maybe one week, and then I read a series of a book of Oxford bookworm, then I am confident of reading english book.
In 2019 November… no December I was interested… I was interesting in listening in english so I started to listen podcast, YouTube video, and Audible.
Every time I had a time I listen to something that in English, so I set set a goal to achieve 15 hundred hours of listening, and nowadays I turn around half point, I mean I listened in English material about 800 hours. Nowadays I understand almost English contents, but still difficult to understand News or drama.
And 2020 pandemic has started and… and at the time I was interested… I was interested in speaking practice… I have interested speaking practice, so repeated English material many times.
Listening and shadowing was my important practice at that time, but I had to quit my job and I had to prepare my next job so practice shadowing and speaking English was hard so I was focused only listening and reading for about three months,
…And in this year I set up a goal of achieving intermediate level of speaking, and my English speaking practice includes 1020 stairs. Maybe I had to go to three stairs every day, and I thought in the end of the year I clear all the stairs, and I will be in the top of the stairs, it means… it means I speak English fluently in my…
There are few days left but… and I wonder if I could speaking in English… free speaking in English for 30 minutes. But I don’t mind if I achieve my goal or not because English speaking practices is a long journey. So i need to step slowly. That’s it.
